Flat Moon are a Leeds-based band that formed in 2017. Set on carving a fresh path into the music scene with an explosive yet intricate sound, Flat Moon fuse elements of funk, rock, and psychedelia to form an alternative sub-genre they’ve dubbed Brit-Funk, or B-Funk.

As passionate musicians, Flat Moon are adamant believers that establishing a "band personality" is important in creating stimulating art. As a result, the band now have a growing reputation for their bizarre on-stage antics, and for applying their innate, but unusual, sense of humour to all elements of their work.

Flat Moon are unique compared to many bands, in that there is no single frontman or lead vocalist. Instead the vocal duties are split between Jacob 'Kiwi' Kendrew (lead guitar), Matty ‘Floon’ White (rhythm guitar), Alex 'Alex Woods' Woods (rhythm guitar), and Ali 'Pali' McCarthy (bass), with Drummer Euan 'Bor' Kneale completing the 5-piece line-up.

Flat Moon burst onto the Leeds music scene in 2018, playing their first gig in February to a sold-out crowd at Verve. Following this, the band played a string of dates across Northern England, including, but not limited to, Newcastle (Little Buildings), Manchester (Retro), and Sheffield (West Street Live). The band concluded this run of live shows by playing at Leeds Stylus for the Leeds-based day festival, ‘Beckett-Fest'.

Following the success of these shows, the band spent the summer together, using the time constructively to rehearse, compose, and book more live shows to keep up their momentum. In October 2019, Flat Moon were booked by Futuresound Promotions to play their biggest gig to date, supporting indie-rock veterans, Twisted Wheel, for a sell-out performance at The Wardrobe Leeds.

To increase their online presence, Flat Moon have begun recording and producing video material that aligns with their music, grouping this collection of videos under the title 'FM TV'. This online material includes music videos, live performances, sketch comedy and behind the scenes segments, all in order to reinforce the band's character and image.

Now preparing for the release of their first two singles ‘Vultures’ and ‘Hold It There’, on the 4th and 18th May respectively, Flat Moon are currently promoting their material, creating new content, and approaching artists, venues, and other music professionals for future live performances.
